Half-Hearted

Romans 6:17-18 – “But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted. You have been set free from sin, and have become slaves to righteousness.”

We’ve all heard the comparisons – halfhearted, lukewarm, hot or cold, neutral, unsure, undecided. When we accepted Christ as our savior for the forgiveness of our sins, this doesn’t automatically mean that we will never sin again. It means that if and when we sin, we can confess and know that our heavenly Father will forgive us. Before our acceptance of Christ, our master usually involved some sort of sin. It is our reaction to that temptation that keeps us from the sins that once controlled our lives. So will be cold or hot? Matthew 26:41 says “Watch and pray that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
Let us all strive to be like Christ in everything we do. We often hear how people are on fire for Christ. When was the last time you had a hot flash??
