Faith That Heals

“And implored him earnestly, saying, “My little daughter is at the point of death. Come and lay your hands on her, so that she may be made well and live.”” — Mark 5:23 ESV

Olivia, our four-year-old, has been the healthiest child I know. However, when we had Sage, our 9 month daughter, we were met with medical issues from day one. Her sugar was dangerously low, and she needed special assistance.

I’m not much of a crier, but it hurt to watch this little girl receive constant stabbing of the needles, amongst other medical treatment. I can empathize with parents who deal with watching their children suffer and feeling helpless. Nevertheless, it was approaching the time for the powers that be to make a decision whether she would be admitted for more intense treatment or allow her to be released. We prayed.

Like the father in this story, Jesus swooped an answered our prayers at the eleventh hour. The faith that heals or rather the God of faith that heals.

“If my people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and heal their land.” (2 Chronicles 7:14)

There will be times in our lives that we don’t have the ability, mindset, faith and others will intercede on our behalf. Likewise, we must be an example like the father when others are in need its essential for us to stand in the gap.
