Majesty (Part 1)

Posted on May 27, 2019 by America's Keswick in Freedom Fighters

To the one only true God, our Savior through Jesus Christ our Lord, be glory (splendor), majesty, might, and dominion, and power and authority, before all time and now and forever (unto all the ages of eternity), Amen (so be it). Jude 1:25 Amplified

Welcome to this new week of Freedom Fighter blogs. Thanks for tracking with us each day. We appreciate you.

Dr. Jack Hayford is the composer of the praise Hymn that has now become a classic, MAJESTY. It is in just about every Hymnal and has been sung around the world.

The Sunday that he introduced this hymn to his congregation for the first time, he shared with them that the following Sunday, they were going to have a very special guest attend their morning service.

He built up this special occasion and then announced to the congregation who it was that would be attending that deserved so much attention.

“The Lord Jesus Himself will be attending our service next Sunday,” he announced.

And then he asked several questions:

“I wonder what time everyone will arrive to church?”

“How do you think everyone will be dressed?”

“I wonder what the singing will be like?”

“I wonder what the offering will be like?

And then he reminded his flock that the reality is that Jesus is present EVERY Sunday.

Jesus said, “For where two or three gather in my name, there am I with them.” Matthew 18:20

Scripture reminds us of this about God’s majesty:

  • God is the Majesty on High (Hebrews 1)
  • God is clothed in majesty (Psalm 93)
  • His voice is filled with majesty (Psalm 29)
  • Majesty is found in His presence (1 Chronicles 16)
  • Majesty is before Him (Psalm 96)
  • His majesty is filled with glorious splendor (Psalm 145)
  • His majesty leads us into worship (Isaiah 24)
  • His majesty covers all the earth (Psalm 8)

Majesty, worship His majesty.
Unto Jesus be all glory, honor, and praise.
Majesty, kingdom authority
Flow from His own unto His own His anthem raise.
So exalt , lift up on high the name of Jesus.
Magnify, come glorify Christ Jesus, the King.
Majesty, worship His majesty —
Jesus who died, now glorified, King of all kings.

Text and music – Dr. Jack Hayford

Take some time today to worship Him.

This Week’s Verse to Memorize: I will extol You, my God, O King; and I will bless Your name forever and ever. Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; and His greatness is unsearchable. – Psalm 145:1-3
