Diaspora

The only reason I know this Greek word is because I heard it preached many times. A diaspora is a scattered population and was used to refer to the involuntary mass dispersion of the Jews after the resurrection. (James 1:1)

In the same sense, we, the church, have been involuntarily scattered, unable to attend our regular services and groups, because of the virus.

When the Jews were dispersed, did they cease being Jews? Of course not. And when the church is scattered, do we cease being the church? Once again, absolutely not.

In fact, the scattering of the Jews only served to spread the gospel to the whole known world at the time. That leads to the question: are we, the church, spreading the good news to people who are desperately searching for something positive in their lives?

Some people will mock the message. Some people do not want good news for political reasons. Some people do not know who to trust, so they trust no one.

None of those reasons are good enough to dissuade us from sharing the good news that we have. It is a matter of life and death.

Medical science has absolute proof that used after early detection, hydroxychloroquine absolutely arrests the virus. Big pharma and big government do not want that news spread, in fact, they have shut down websites that communicate this.* Another long-standing and approved medication for asthma, Budesonide, has proven 100% effective in early treatment; but, once again, it is being withheld from the public.** Presently the information is in the hands of Senator Cruze and other political leaders. Let’s see what they do with it. Practicing physicians are saying with more regularity that there is no reason whatsoever for the present hysteria if we simply use what is readily available and proven.

Just as secular thinking does not want us to believe the present science or Bible, it also does not want us to believe that Jesus is the way to eternal life. In fact, they are doing everything possible to remove God from our consciousness.

We, the scattered, the present diaspora, have a marvelous opportunity to be the bearer of good news in bad times.
