A Child’s Perspective

While in Orlando, I took my 3 year old on a walk to enjoy the gorgeous landscape. Unfortunately, we were in a medical district and the location was overwhelmed with medical buildings. However, she gazed at the buildings, appreciated the structure, and mentioned God made that building and Jesus made that building. She went on to declare that Jesus made the whole city. She taught me to accept Christ through the works of man. She is right; all the great abilities and capabilities are from the God.
Children possess various degrees of humility, simplicity, and faith. Over the years, we develop unhealthy pride, skepticisms, and become blind from our first love. We become too smart for our own good. We become self-seeking and self-focused. “We must be brought to a place where, naturally gifted though we may be, we dare not speak except in conscious and continual dependence on Him.” – Watchman Nee
The term ‘born-again’ is the beginning of our new life in Christ and not the reshaping of our previous endeavor. Our new life is not the sum of our earthy knowledge, talents, or mixed with our ideology. We are babes in the Kingdom. Thank you Jesus that as we grow in understanding, that we realize that we know less than we perceive. “Like newborn infants, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation”(1 Peter 2:2)
