Are you Watchful? II

“When he saw the crowds, he had compassion for them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd” (Matthew 9:36).

Have you ever seen a sheep without a shepherd? Have you ever saw any domesticated animal lose his owner? It’s very depressing. For instance, based on a true story there is movie called Hachi. This heartwarming Japanese tale is about a loyal dog named Hachiko. Hachi would accompany Peter, his master, to the train station every day and return each afternoon to greet him after work. Sorrowfully, his master goes to work one day, but dies at work and never returns to the station. Hachi faithfully returns to the same spot at the station every day until the last day of his life: waiting for his beloved master. Many watched this dog aimless searching for his master each day. Hachi was lost, sad, and seemed helpless.

Since Jesus was watching, he noticed the condition of the people. They clearly needed help. Governmental issues, family needs, sickness, cultural mistreatment, poor leadership and the like… Christ was there to meet their needs and to provide resolutions to many unanswered questions.

He is a Watchman!

We are to be watchmen. In the days of past, a watchman’s job was to warn the cities of any dangers, protect the vineyards, fields, livestock; community awareness. They were station high to see a better view.

Are your views and perspectives from a High (Godly) perspective, have you’ve notice the condition of the people around you? Be Watchful!
